KOCHI:             Sathayi didn’t aware of the ban on Thousand and five hundred rupee notes. And she didn’t even know the Prime minister of India . So she kept thousand and five hundred rupee notes worth four lakhs in her safe. After a gap of two months she went to varapuzha market for purchasing goods for next two or three months. The grocery merchant refused to take  thousand rupee notes. Then she was in trouble and shouted sharply to the merchant. People crowded and informed her about the reality. Then she said that she had a lot more at home.

Sathayi alias Sathi aged 75 is alone at home for many years.  After the death of her husband and only daughter she herself isolated from the society.   She is a retired government servant from Animal Husbandry Department. The amount is from her retirement benefits. Even having lakhs of rupees she didn’t have electricity and other facilities at home.

The gramapanchayath president of varapuzha and members with the help of police visited sathayi’s home and counted the remaining notes. There are one hundred and thirty notes of thousand rupee and five hundred and forty notes of five hundred rupee. The north paravur police circle Inspector reported this to the Income tax department for further proceedings.

So Sathayi became a martyr of November 8 attack by the Central government. This Indicates that a country like India having crores of Illiterate and facilities denied villagers is not ready for a total transformation. A door to door campaign needed in India for the effective implementation of  new steps. A country having newly facilitated people only can take part in an era of digital money. Otherwise they will  raise the question “NARENDRA MODI “…….. What is that ?
